Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Chelsea, has acknowledged that his team’s Wednesday night loss to Liverpool was justified.
At Anfield, the Blues were crushed 4-1.
The home team’s goals came from Diogo Jota, Conor Bradley, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Luis Díaz, while Chelsea’s goal came from Christopher Nkunku in the second half.
They were obviously far superior to us. We never won a single duel. After the first or second touch, we lost the ball each time we retrieved it.
They certainly deserve it. We made a few small changes in the second half, and Mudryk had a good opportunity to score, but we gave up.
Then we score, 3-1, and perhaps Nkunku’s penalty gives us a chance. However, there is nothing wrong with the choice. All that matters is that they outperformed us. Even if we had horrible luck, we still felt Liverpool was superior to us, Pochettino stated following the match.
Chelsea now has 31 points and is in 10th place as a result of the outcome.
